Little Palms Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to fostering childhood development and improving access to healthcare services, beginning in the Caribbean and expanding across the Tropics. Our Story.
Little Palms Foundation was created to confront the challenges facing tropical communities—beginning in the Caribbean—where geography, limited infrastructure, and longstanding structural gaps continue to affect access to education and healthcare. These regions are uniquely vulnerable, often isolated and disproportionately impacted by climate and economic pressures.
We respond with urgency, compassion, and cultural respect, partnering with communities to build solutions that endure. From nurturing early childhood development to expanding access to life-saving medical care, our work is rooted in real needs and focused on creating healthier, brighter futures for generations to come.

We nurture the next generation through play-based learning, creativity, and problem-solving skills. By aligning with LEGO® Education–based learning approaches and collaborating with local schools, we help children in tropical communities develop confidence, critical thinking, and resilience—skills that unlock lifelong potential.
Healthcare: Access When It Matters Most
The Palms Healthcare Fund ensures that no one is denied life-saving medical care due to geography or cost. From emergency medical transport and patient travel support to telehealth pathways and clinical care coordination, we help families reach the care they need—when time matters most.

Why the Tropics?
A Strategic, Moral, and Economic Imperative.
1. The Tropics are home to 40% of the world’s people—and growing.
By 2050, more than half the world’s children will be born in tropical regions. The future of global development is happening here — yet these communities face some of the highest burdens of disease, the lowest access to early childhood resources, and some of the most fragile healthcare systems.
2. The Tropics are where climate, poverty, and health collide.
Rising temperatures and climate pressures have disproportionate impacts on health outcomes, food security, maternal health, and childhood development. Tropical communities experience the sharpest inequalities because infrastructure wasn’t built to withstand these compounded risks.
3. Economic dependence on tourism creates vulnerability.
Much of the Caribbean and broader Tropics depend heavily on tourism economies, meaning shocks—hurricanes, pandemics, downturns—create sudden disruptions in both income and access to services. Families and children are often the first to feel the consequences.
4. Philanthropy tends to overlook the Tropics.
Despite their vulnerabilities, tropical regions receive far less global philanthropic investment compared to Africa, Latin America, or South Asia. LPF fills that gap with a focus on resiliency, health, and opportunity.
